Providers of Moving and Handling and Prevention and Management of Aggression training
Our moving and handling training is designed to help employers meet the legislative requirements and also best practice guidelines for a variety of roles within the workplace. The training will support each individual in identifying the risks to themselves and the potential risks to others who require moving.
WHAT WE OFFER
Practical Skills Training can offer a variety of training packages to meet the needs of employers and employees. These include:
MOVING AND HANDLING PEOPLE WITH HEALTH OR CARE NEEDS
This training is designed for any health or care workers who’s role includes physically moving or handling another person with health or care needs. Dependant on your requirements the training can be designed to cover a variety of movement requirements such as walking, transferring, movement in bed, rolling and managing high risk activities such as falling and heavy patients. The training can cover a variety of handling aids that are commonly used such as hoists and sling selection, standing aids, transferring aids, electric profiling beds and wheelchairs.
This training can be delivered to staff who are completely new to health or care environments, or staff who require an update. Update sessions can be further enhanced by integrated moving and handling with related issues such as tissue viability, infection control, consent, Mental Capacity Act and aggression.
MOVING AND HANDLING PEOPLE
This training is designed for any worker who’s role may occasional include moving and handling people. This may include include pushing wheelchairs, assisting people when walking or getting out of a chair. The training will cover some practical tips to manage these situations and also an understanding of how to safely use aids such as wheelchairs and frames.
All of the training we delivery is based on best practice guidance and years of practical experience.
BACK INJURY PREVENTION
This training is designed to cover the basics for employees within any organisation. The training will cover: an awareness of the most up to date guidance for looking after your back, an understanding of legislation and regulations and the relevant responsibilities for employers and employees, how to undertake an on the spot risk assessment prior to undertaking a M&H activity and to also have an awareness of the risk factors and safe principles of moving and handling.
